C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate This is a very effective emollient and is an ester derived from a reaction between benzoic acid and coconut oil. Benzoic acid occurs freely in nature in gum benzoin, a tree sap. We use a nature identical source. C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate provides smoothness to the bar.

Dimethicone Sourced from silica. Used to lubricate and moisturise and helps the skin feel silky smooth.

Glycerine Is a by-product of saponification of oils. Circe's glycerine is guaranteed to come from palm oil. Most glycerine is derived from animal fats. Glycerine acts as a humectant (i.e moisture attractant) in skin care and cosmetic products. Glycerine is also used in many food products.

Macadamia Oil Sourced from Australian macadamia nuts. This is a particularly rich oil and contributes moisturising qualities to the finished bars.

Safflower Oil Oil extracted from the safflower seed. Safflower oil is another emollient and yes Circe has a lot of emollients.

Soy Lecithin Derived from soy beans. It contributes to the smoothness and the richness of the foam. Build up the foam in your hands.

Stearyl Heptoanate Is another ester emollient and is used to provide a good afterfeel. It is again derived from oils and its action is said to mimic the preening oils on ducks.
